❓ How does this all work?

It’s simple — and designed to make sending love to your Penn Stater easy. 💙

1️⃣ Place your order — add your gift note, share any preferences, allergies, or fun facts, and select your delivery date at checkout.

2️⃣ Delivery day magic — your Penn Stater gets a text in the morning letting them know a surprise is on the way from Happy Valley Hugs. We’ll confirm a time they’ll be home, then hand-deliver it right to them! 📦

3️⃣ Flexible + stress-free — if they can’t respond right away (life is busy!), we’ll keep trying. If they won’t be home, we’ll coordinate a convenient spot to meet.

 

❓ I don’t know my student’s full address — just their dorm name and room number. Is that okay?

That’s no problem at all!

At checkout, just use Penn State’s main address and include the dorm name and room number in Address Line 2. It will look something like this:

We’ll take it from there and make sure your care package gets to the right place. 💙📬

 

📦 What’s included in each care package?

Each box is thoughtfully themed and includes a mix of treats, comfort items, and fun surprises—many from local businesses in State College. Check the product descriptions for details!

 

🚚 What does the cost of the care package include?

The price you see is all-inclusive—it covers the full care package plus local delivery to any dorm or off-campus apartment near Penn State University Park. There are no hidden fees or extra charges at checkout.

(Delivery outside of State College may be available for an additional fee—just contact us to discuss.)

 

📅 Can I choose the delivery date?

Yes! When checking out, you’ll select your preferred delivery day using our calendar tool. We'll do our best to deliver on that day—but please note that delivery depends on your Penn Stater being available to receive the package.

 

🏡 Do you deliver to dorms and apartments?

Absolutely. We deliver to all residence halls and off-campus apartments near Penn State University Park. Just enter your student’s full address at checkout.

Delivery outside of State College may be available for an additional fee.  Please contact us to discuss!

 

When should I place my order?

Orders must be placed at least 2 days in advance of your preferred delivery date. We encourage planning ahead—it's never too early to schedule a care package!

The one exception is the Nittany Nurture Box—because no one plans to get sick. We'll always do our best to deliver that one on short notice when your student needs a little extra care.

 

🚨 Do you accept last-minute orders?

While we ask for at least 2 days' notice, we understand that surprises and situations pop up. If you need a package delivered today or tomorrow, please email us at happyvalleyhugs@gmail.com.

We’ll do our best to accommodate your request based on delivery availability!

 

🦁 Are the products officially licensed Penn State items?

While we are not officially affiliated with Penn State, some care packages may include PSU-themed items from local retailers or makers when available.

 

🌻 Where do the products come from?

We prioritize sourcing from local small businesses and artisans in Happy Valley to support our community—and make each box feel extra special.

 

✏️ Can I add a personal message?

Yes! Every package includes a hand-written note. You can enter your message at checkout.

 

🔄 Can I customize a package?

Not at this time, but we plan to offer custom boxes in the future. For now, each package is pre-curated with care.

 

📬 Do you ship out of town?

Nope! We're local-only—designed especially for Penn State students at University Park. Every package is hand-delivered, not shipped.

 

💸 What is your refund policy?

Because each care package is custom-packed and perishable items may be included, all sales are final. However, if there’s an issue with your order, please contact us right away—we want every recipient to be delighted and will do our best to make it right.

 

🌰 What if my student has allergies or dietary restrictions?

We’ll do our best to accommodate! Our partner bakeries offer gluten-free and vegan options, and we're happy to adjust when possible.

Please make a note of any allergies or dietary restrictions at checkout, and we’ll do everything we can to customize the package accordingly.

While we make every effort to honor requests, please note that some items may be prepared in shared facilities where cross-contamination with allergens is possible.

 

📝 What if my student has preferences—like not liking chocolate?

We get it—everyone has their favorites (and not-so-favorites). You can include any preferences or aversions at checkout, and we’ll do our best to accommodate!

Whether it’s “no chocolate,” “extra sour,” “heavy on the caramel,” or “my kid loves peanut butter,” just let us know at checkout and we’ll tailor the box as much as possible.

 

📅 Do you offer any discounts?

Yes! We offer a 5% discount on any order placed 10 or more days in advance. Just use code PLAN5 at checkout. It helps us plan ahead and pack with extra care!
